(WO) – The American Petroleum Institute (API) launched a press release from API Senior Vice President and Basic Counsel Ryan Meyers on the Supreme Courtroom’s determination to overturn the 1984 Chevron precedent.

On Friday, June 28, the U.S. Supreme Courtroom overturned Chevron v. Pure Sources Protection Council, a decades-old authorized doctrine that allowed federal regulators to interpret unclear legal guidelines.
The Supreme Courtroom stated the Chevron determination improperly transferred the facility to interpret the regulation from the judiciary to federal companies. Beneath Chevron, judges had been required to defer to companies that provided an affordable interpretation of an unclear statute.
