Quincy Jones handled the youthful sister of Jamie Foxx, DeOndra Dixon, with a lot “grace” that the Academy Award-winning actor acknowledged it in an Instagram memoriam to the late musical nice.

After Jones’ unlucky passing at 91 years outdated on Sunday (Nov. 3), which was publicized the next day, Foxx commemorated the late producer, musician, arranger, and composer with a heartfelt message on Instagram. Within the caption was gratitude for Jones having embraced Dixon, who had Down syndrome, and died in October 2020 at 36 years outdated.

“Expensive Quincy. Thanks. Thanks for giving the world music…thanks for giving the world mild… thanks for giving the world an instance of what an excellent human being is [supposed] to be like… you taught us find out how to dwell, you taught us find out how to get each second out of life,” Foxx’s message started, subsequent to a throwback portrait of Jones.

“Thanks for the way in which you embraced my sister,” Foxx continued. “You handled her with such kindness and such grace… you allowed her to really feel like she was a celebrity… she loves you similar to all of us did…please say howdy to her if u run into her in your angelic journey…”

Dixon was typically seen with Foxx throughout crimson carpet occasions throughout her life and even made a cameo in her older brother’s 2008 music video for “Blame It.”

Foxx went on to thank Jones for the “great tales” he informed whereas visiting the actor-singer’s dwelling for household dinners. In 2004 Ray Charles biopic Ray, the place Foxx portrayed the titular singer and pianist, Jones was performed by Larenz Tate.

Tributes to Jones have been aplenty on Monday, with posts being amongst his fellow mentees and music icons Will Smith, The Weeknd, Stevie Surprise and extra. However Foxx has beforehand credited Jones for setting him straight after the huge success of Ray. After Foxx had gained the Academy Award for Greatest Actor in 2005, Oprah Winfrey had staged an intervention led by Jones to damper Foxx’s party-going conduct.

“Nice job on Ray however you’ve fucked all the pieces else up now. You bought to buckle down, child,” Foxx recalled Jones telling him on Entry Hollywood in 2022.
