Exploring the sonic spectrum between funk, soul, and jazz, North West London singer, songwriter, and producer Lynda Daybreak reveals her new EP “eleventh Hour”, launched in the present day by way of her personal First Daybreak Data imprint.

Reflecting on the EP, Daybreak shares: “eleventh Hour is a deeply private undertaking to me, reflecting my development each musically and spiritually. It explores love, hope, and introspection, with every observe telling a narrative. I wrote and produced on all of the songs, staying true to my musical roots whereas evolving my sound. This report is about embracing the stress between previous and future, and serves as a reminder that it’s by no means too late to pursue your goals—even within the eleventh Hour.”

The EP contains the present single “eleventh Hour,” an empowering exploration of time, longing, nostalgia, and hope. Co-produced by Lynda Daybreak and JACKUM, you’ll be able to watch the Ricky Rxse-directed video right here. It follows her funk-laden earlier single, “The place You Are”.

Daybreak’s songs weave fascinating grooves with celestial vocals, reflecting the crackling sounds of her dad and mom’ report collections. She attributes her upbringing within the Pentecostal church as her non secular schooling in funk and gospel expression. Her breakout single “Transfer” was first featured on Giles Peterson’s thirteenth “Brownswood Bubblers” compilation, introducing her as a “one to observe.” Teaming up with frequent collaborator Al Dobson Jr., she debuted her eagerly anticipated EP, “At First Mild,” by way of Mndsgn’s Los Angeles label, Akashik Data, acclaimed by the likes of Conflict, The Guardian, NME, ELLE UK, and extra. Daybreak’s music has collectively amassed over 10 million streams throughout streaming platforms, and she or he is poised to proceed her rise as one of many UK’s most promising rising voices in modern soul.

Tonight, Daybreak performs a sold-out headline present at London’s Barbican Centre, offered by the South London-based musical motion and curatorial platform, Touching Bass.
