How Was God Introduced to You?

Some people love God and still flinch when they think about Him.

The way God was introduced to you matters.

Some people met God through love, provision, patience, and correction that still felt like care. Others met Him through fear, threat, punishment, guilt, and the emotional weight of authority figures who used His name like a weapon.

That introduction leaves a mark.

If God was first presented as the man with the belt, the invisible judge, or the voice waiting to condemn you, then even prayer can feel unsafe. You may love God and still flinch when you think about Him. You may believe in Him and still expect punishment before provision.

That is not always rebellion.

Sometimes it is religious trauma wearing the clothes of devotion.

The work is not to abandon God. The work is to examine the version of God that was handed to you. Was it rooted in Scripture, Spirit, and truth? Or was it shaped by fear, culture, control, pain, and people who confused dominance with holiness?

A distorted introduction can poison a real relationship.

But a reintroduction can heal it.
